  • Copyright law prevented a Daily Show episode on the UK phone hacking scandal from being aired in Britain because it’s illegal to use footage of British Parliament in satire. More on boingboing.
  • Some companies are using ‘openwashing’ to take advantage of the positive reputation open content and open source have, without being open (or at least being substantially closed). More on iterating towards openness.
  • The winners of the 2011 Jamendo Awards have been announced. All Jamendo songs are common content; of the winners only Josh Woodward uses a libre licence. See them all.
  • Libre Graphics Magazine is calling for submissions for its fourth publication. This issue is themed around The Physical, the Digital and the Designer. Submissions close 26 August. Read more.
