Fund Free Culture

  • The Dragonprince’s Heir, the third novel in a fantasy trilogy. To be released under CC0 upon funding. Part of a broader scheme to set up an institute to fund writers. $4,500 raised of $30,000 (12 days to go).
  • Dungeon World, an excellent tabletop roleplaying game based on Apocalypse World. The text is already under CC BY; the assets and backer rewards are all rights reserved (at least at this time). I wrote a piece on this on the blog. $34,000 raised of $4,000 (21 days to go).

Libre Works

  • OpenTDD, a clone of Transport Tycoon Deluxe. As the assets aren’t mentioned specifically, it seems that the whole computer game is GNU GPL.
  • Those Funny Funguloids! is a computer game where you whiz around collecting mushrooms. Under the zlib/libpng License.
  • Income Models for Open Access, a guide to developing a business model for an open access journal. The PDF is licensed CC BY-NC-SA while the online version appears to be CC BY.
  • SPARC, an alliance of academics to working change the imbalances in scholarly publishing. CC BY.
•, a database attempting to cast the light on European Union subsidies. ODC ODbL.
  • Sarrenor, a campaign setting for Dungeon World (see Fund Free Culture above). CC BY.
  • Aaron Pogue, an author. Two of his books are CC0 (but not gratis).
